Body scan meditation gently guides attention through different areas of the body to increase awareness and support relaxation or grounding. For some people, focusing on bodily sensations can feel unfamiliar or uncomfortable, especially if the body has been a source of stress, pain, or difficult experiences.
If you experience discomfort, you don’t have to push through it. You can shift attention to a neutral area of the body, notice contact with the chair or floor, focus on sounds in the room, or pause the practice altogether.
These videos are offered as samples for you to check out as you explore the idea of meditation. You can allow them to guide you through the meditation or just listen to them without actively scanning the body.
The goal of a body scan is not to force relaxation or attention, but to offer an option for gentle awareness. You are encouraged to adjust or stop at any point based on what feels supportive.
